D\u00e9saffect\u00e9 \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es quarante, il est alors devenu un caf\u00e9 jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ce qu&#8217;un accident mortel interdise cet usage. Il vient d&#8217;\u00eatre rachet\u00e9 par des Fran\u00e7ais pour devenir un point d&#8217;observation. Pour comprendre sa fabrication, le plus simple est de partir d&#8217;un cylindre, \u00a0 une surface simple \u00e0 construire. Pour cela, il suffit de prendre un axe, d&#8217;y monter deux roues et d&#8217;y tendre des \u00e9lastiques parall\u00e8les \u00e0 l&#8217;axe. Les \u00e9lastiques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 choisis \u00e9quidistants.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Les droites repr\u00e9sent\u00e9es par les \u00e9lastiques sont les g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrices du cylindre.<\/p>\n<p>On fait alors tourner la roue du haut d&#8217;un certain angle dans un sens et celle du bas du m\u00eame angle dans le sens oppos\u00e9. On aper\u00e7oit une parabole en contour au fond et une hyperbole a \u00e9t\u00e9 trac\u00e9e sur la surface.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Construction du parabolo\u00efde hyperbolique<\/h2>\n<p>La m\u00e9thode utilis\u00e9e pour construire l\u2019hyperbolo\u00efde peut l\u2019\u00eatre en rempla\u00e7ant le cylindre par un plan. Autrement dit, on garde le dispositif initial\u00a0: axe et roues mais, au lieu de tendre les \u00e9lastiques entre les deux roues, on les tend entre deux rayons parall\u00e8les, avant de tourner les roues.
