De plus, ces ondes se propagent bien plus rapidement que la vitesse de r\u00e9action normale d\u2019un individu isol\u00e9 peut le laisser penser. En revanche, les mouvements des oiseaux s\u00e9par\u00e9s du groupe ne l\u2019influencent pas. Ils sont les cibles privil\u00e9gi\u00e9es des pr\u00e9dateurs, donc ne sont pas suivis. Cette r\u00e8gle a l\u2019avantage d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer la r\u00e9ponse du groupe \u00e0 une attaque.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Un mod\u00e8le math\u00e9matique<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"margin: 0px;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;font-size: 12pt\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">D\u2019apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9tude de Wayne Potts, chaque oiseau r\u00e9agit \u00e0 ce qui l\u2019entoure, et uniquement \u00e0 cela. Son comportement peut donc \u00eatre mod\u00e9lis\u00e9\u00a0: chacun ne r\u00e9agit qu\u2019\u00e0 ses voisins. En 1986, un informaticien, Craig Reynolds, pr\u00e9cisa des r\u00e8gles qui simulent le comportement des nu\u00e9es d\u2019oiseaux comme celui des bancs de poissons. Il a nomm\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0boids\u00a0\u00bb ces oiseaux virtuels (un mot \u00e0 faible distance linguistique de \u00ab\u00a0birds\u00a0\u00bb). On peut trouver des animations sur internet utilisant son mod\u00e8le (chercher Boids avec votre moteur de recherche pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9).
