La r\u00e9ponse tient en la rencontre d\u2019un maire ouvert \u00e0 l\u2019art contemporain, et professeur de math\u00e9matiques, Andr\u00e9 Aschi\u00e9ri, et d\u2019un collectionneur et artiste, Gottfried Honegger. Ce dernier, avec sa compagne Sybil Albers, a fait donation de leur collection personnelle, en 2000 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9tat fran\u00e7ais, \u00e0 laquelle se sont ajout\u00e9s des compl\u00e9ments importants telles que les Donations Aur\u00e8lie Nemours et Catherine &amp; Gilbert Brownstone. Actuellement le fonds compte presque 600 \u0153uvres. Elles sont expos\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019Espace de l\u2019Art Concret dans un cadre adapt\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2>La place des math\u00e9matiques et de l&#8217;optique<\/h2>\n<p>D\u00e8s la premi\u00e8re salle, les math\u00e9matiques sont omnipr\u00e9sentes. Le tableau de Max Bill intitul\u00e9 <em>deux zones, claire et sombre<\/em> \u00e9voquera avant tout l\u2019irrationalit\u00e9 de racine de deux \u00e0 l\u2019amateur de math\u00e9matiques. Un grand nombre de toiles sont ainsi fond\u00e9es sur une sorte d\u2019illusion d\u2019optique qui pi\u00e8ge l\u2019\u0153il entre plusieurs interpr\u00e9tations.<\/p>\n<h2>Des lignes au hasard<\/h2>\n<p>Fran\u00e7ois Morellet utilise une technique \u00e9tonnante pour cr\u00e9er certaines de ses \u0153uvres\u00a0: le hasard. Quand on observe ses toiles, on se demande cependant s\u2019il n\u2019a pas fait intervenir le hasard plusieurs fois pour choisir ensuite le plus esth\u00e9tique, ce qui est presque la n\u00e9gation du hasard. On peut s\u2019interroger mais, peu importe, seul le r\u00e9sultat compte et il d\u00e9gage une harmonie certaine, encore li\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019incertitude du regard entre diverses interpr\u00e9tations.<\/p>\n<p>Fran\u00e7ois Morellet a d\u2019ailleurs invent\u00e9 la th\u00e9orie de la \u00ab\u00a0participation du spectateur\u00a0\u00bb. Le regard comme la lumi\u00e8re sont au centre de l\u2019art en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et de l\u2019art concret en particulier. Cette importance devient \u00e9vidente dans ses sculptures comme cette sph\u00e8re d\u00e9coup\u00e9e suivant deux s\u00e9ries de plans parall\u00e8les, perpendiculaires entre eux. Chaque d\u00e9placement du spectateur, chaque variation de la lumi\u00e8re font appara\u00eetre un treillage diff\u00e9rent. Cela explique que vous puissiez trouver des sculptures tr\u00e8s comparables sign\u00e9es de l\u2019un ou de l\u2019autre. L\u2019espace de l\u2019art concret poss\u00e8de l\u2019une des sculptures sign\u00e9es par David. Cependant, cette interpr\u00e9tation est fausse\u00a0: la conique ne contient que trois droites et non six. D\u2019autre part, les points perc\u00e9s sur la surface sont alors bien myst\u00e9rieux, comme distribu\u00e9s au hasard. Si les quatre masses se trouvent, o\u00f9 sont les deux \u00e9chelles\u00a0?
