Zoom sur NGC 1850.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cette image r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par le <a href=\"http:\/\/hubblesite.org\/image\/1093\/news_release\/2001-25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">t\u00e9lescope spatial Hubble<\/a> repr\u00e9sente un curieux double amas d&#8217;\u00e9toiles enregistr\u00e9 sous le nom de NGC 1850 (NGC est l&#8217;abr\u00e9viation du <em>New General Catalogue of Nebulae and Clusters of Stars<\/em> \u00e9tabli \u00e0 la fin du XIXe si\u00e8cle par l&#8217;astronome John Dreyer).<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_9642\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9642\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/09\/ngc1850.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[9641]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-9642\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/09\/ngc1850-450x279.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/09\/ngc1850-450x279.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/09\/ngc1850-768x477.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/09\/ngc1850-1024x636.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/09\/ngc1850.jpg 1450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-9642\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photographi\u00e9 par le t\u00e9lescope Hubble, l&#8217;amas NGC 1850 se situe dans le Grand nuage de Magellan. \u00a9 NASA, ESA, Martino Romaniello (European Southern Observatory, Germany)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Situ\u00e9 dans le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/04\/02\/les-nuages-de-magellan-dans-le-ciel-du-chili\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grand nuage de Magellan<\/a> (LMC), une galaxie satellite de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2018\/08\/26\/en-video-quest-ce-que-la-voie-lactee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Voie lact\u00e9e<\/a>, NGC 1850 est le groupe d&#8217;\u00e9toiles le plus brillant du LMC apr\u00e8s le complexe de 30 Doradus (la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/videos\/nebuleuse-tarentule-devoile-son-cortege-astres-nuages-5596\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">n\u00e9buleuse de la Tarentule<\/a>).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>NGC 1850 est constitu\u00e9 de deux grappes d&#8217;\u00e9toiles\u00a0: la principale au centre du clich\u00e9 est une famille d&#8217;objets stellaires qui n&#8217;a pas d&#8217;\u00e9quivalent dans notre Galaxie, un amas de jeunes \u00e9toiles (50 millions d&#8217;ann\u00e9es) de type T-Tauri (des \u00e9toiles bleues extr\u00eamement chaudes de faible masse) dont la disposition rappelle \u00e9trangement celle observ\u00e9e dans les <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/01\/05\/zoom-sur-messier-5-lun-des-plus-vieux-amas-globulaires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amas globulaires<\/a>, compos\u00e9s eux de tr\u00e8s vieilles \u00e9toiles. Le deuxi\u00e8me amas beaucoup plus petit en bas \u00e0 droite de l&#8217;image est quant \u00e0 lui constitu\u00e9 d&#8217;\u00e9toiles de type OB de masse \u00e9lev\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>En pointant NGC 1850 le t\u00e9lescope Hubble observe la formation des \u00e9toiles aux deux extr\u00e9mit\u00e9s de l&#8217;\u00e9chelle des masses stellaires, les \u00e9toiles T-Tauri de faible masse et les \u00e9toiles OB de masse \u00e9lev\u00e9e :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Les \u00e9toiles T-Tauri sont de jeunes \u00e9toiles qui n&#8217;ont peut-\u00eatre pas encore commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 convertir leur hydrog\u00e8ne en h\u00e9lium comme le fait le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/11\/09\/coucher-de-soleil-derriere-lobservatoire-du-pic-du-midi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soleil<\/a>. L&#8217;\u00e9nergie qu&#8217;elles \u00e9mettent provient de leur propre contraction gravitationnelle.<\/li>\n<li>Les \u00e9toiles massives de type OB \u00e9mettent de grandes quantit\u00e9s de rayonnement ultraviolet \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique absorb\u00e9 par l&#8217;atmosph\u00e8re terrestre ce qui rend difficile leur observation au sol. Depuis sa position privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e, le t\u00e9lescope Hubble peut d\u00e9tecter la lumi\u00e8re de ces \u00e9toiles massives et permettre aux astronomes de caract\u00e9riser les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s de ces astres.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notez enfin que l&#8217;amas NGC 1850 est entour\u00e9 par des filaments de gaz diffus qui font partie de N103 (une superbulle cosmique comparable \u00e0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/france\/news\/eso1125\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">N44<\/a>) form\u00e9e \u00e0 partir de l&#8217;explosion d&#8217;\u00e9toiles massives.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Le Grand nuage de Magellan h\u00e9berge un groupe de jeunes \u00e9toiles d&#8217;aspect globulaire, un type d\u2019objet inconnu dans la Voie lact\u00e9e.
