Jupiter est actuellement dans la constellation du Cancer, non loin de l&#8217;amas ouvert d&#8217;\u00e9toiles <a title=\"Messier 44 et Jupiter\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/10\/01\/messier-44-et-jupiter\/\" target=\"_blank\">Messier 44<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->En allant vers l&#8217;ouest nous trouvons ensuite Procyon (magnitude 0,4), une \u00e9toile g\u00e9ante double, la plus brillante \u00e9toile de la constellation du Petit Chien et la septi\u00e8me plus brillante du ciel nocturne.<\/p>\n<p>Toujours plus \u00e0 l&#8217;ouest se trouve Sirius. Apr\u00e8s le <a title=\"Le Soleil dans la mer\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/05\/07\/soleil-mer\/\" target=\"_blank\">Soleil<\/a>, Sirius est la plus brillante \u00e9toile vue de la Terre. Elle est situ\u00e9e \u00e0 un peu moins de 9 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de nous et sa magnitude apparente est de -1,5.<\/p>\n<p>Sirius (<em>Alpha Canis Majoris<\/em>) est la principale \u00e9toile de la constellation du Grand Chien ; son apparition \u00e0 l&#8217;aube en \u00e9t\u00e9 est \u00e0 l&#8217;origine du mot canicule.
