La r\u00e9ponse se trouve dans la pr\u00e9sence d&#8217;un \u00e9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9, le monoxyde de carbone (CO), un \u00e9l\u00e9ment tr\u00e8s r\u00e9pandu dans le cosmos qui se forme au c\u0153ur des \u00e9toiles et se r\u00e9pand lors des explosions stellaires. D&#8217;apr\u00e8s des mesures effectu\u00e9es par le radiot\u00e9lescope millim\u00e9trique de l&#8217;<em>Arizona Radio Observatory<\/em> (<a href=\"http:\/\/aro.as.arizona.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ARO<\/a>), Le noyau de la com\u00e8te C\/2016 R2 Panstarrs recrache chaque seconde 4,7&#215;10<sup>28\u00a0 <\/sup>mol\u00e9cules de CO dans l&#8217;espace.<\/p>\n<p>Le monoxyde de carbone est un gaz extr\u00eamement volatil qui peut se sublimer (passer directement d&#8217;un \u00e9tat solide \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9tat gazeux) \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures aussi basses que -248\u00b0 C (25 K). Il suffit donc d&#8217;un peu de lumi\u00e8re solaire pour transformer les d\u00e9p\u00f4ts de CO congel\u00e9 \u00e0 la surface du noyau en jets de gaz et en nuages \u200b\u200bbleut\u00e9s (la couleur du CO ionis\u00e9 \u00e0 la longueur d&#8217;onde de 427 nanom\u00e8tres).<\/p>\n<p>C\/2016 R2 Panstarrs va poursuivre son chemin en direction\u00a0 du\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/02\/06\/le-soleil-se-couche-sur-le-desert-datacama\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soleil\u00a0<\/a>dont elle sera au plus pr\u00e8s le 9 mai 2018 (date de la prochaine opposition de la plan\u00e8te\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/08\/26\/25-aout-jupiter-avait-rendez-croissant-de-lune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jupiter<\/a>\u00a0et veille des traditionnelles\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/28\/images-rap-2017-tres-grand-cru\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rencontres Astronomiques de Printemps<\/a>) \u00e0 un peu plus de 2,6 Unit\u00e9s Astronomiques.
