La preuve avec Arp 243.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h5>Une galaxie particuli\u00e8re :<\/h5>\n<p>Situ\u00e9e entre <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/05\/15\/jolie-constellation-lion-accueille-jupiter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">le Lion<\/a> et les <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/06\/07\/messier-35-ngc-2158-deux-joyaux-gemeaux\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">G\u00e9meaux<\/a>, la petite constellation du Cancer a peu de chances d&#8217;attirer le regard de l&#8217;observateur n\u00e9ophyte. On n&#8217;y d\u00e9nombre en effet aucune \u00e9toile plus brillante que la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magnitude<\/a> 3,5. Les <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/12\/14\/lumiere-rouge-les-astronomes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">astronomes amateurs<\/a> savent qu&#8217;elle h\u00e9berge deux amas d&#8217;\u00e9toiles, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/06\/09\/jupiter-et-venus-encadrent-lamas-detoiles-messier-44\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Messier 44<\/a> (l&#8217;amas de la Cr\u00e8che) et <a href=\"http:\/\/messier.obspm.fr\/f\/m067.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Messier 67<\/a>. Mais c&#8217;est une autre cible beaucoup plus discr\u00e8te qui est r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement point\u00e9e par les t\u00e9lescopes professionnels. Il s&#8217;agit de NGC 2623 (connue \u00e9galement sous le nom de Arp 243), le fruit d&#8217;une collision entre deux galaxies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/11\/arp243.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[8513]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8514\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/11\/arp243-450x216.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/11\/arp243-450x216.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/11\/arp243-768x369.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/11\/arp243-1024x492.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/11\/arp243.jpg 1874w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rappelons que NGC correspond au <em>New General Catalogue<\/em>, un r\u00e9pertoire de plus de 7.500 objets c\u00e9lestes \u00e9labor\u00e9 par l&#8217;astronome irlando-danois John Dreyer au XIXe si\u00e8cle. Quant \u00e0 Arp, cela fait r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 l&#8217;<em>Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies<\/em>, un\u00a0catalogue de 338 galaxies particuli\u00e8res publi\u00e9 en 1966 par Halton Arp.\u00a0\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Collision cosmique :<\/h5>\n<p>Arp 243 se trouve \u00e0 environ 250 millions d&#8217;ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de nous. Ce que nous observons l\u00e0 est le r\u00e9sultat de la lente collision entre deux galaxies spirales. Au centre, nous voyons un noyau actif (qui repr\u00e9sente la fusion des deux noyaux des galaxies). De part et d&#8217;autre s&#8217;\u00e9chappent deux tra\u00eenes gravitationnelles, sans doute tout ce qui reste des bras galactiques d&#8217;origine.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15001\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15001\" style=\"width: 450px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/01\/cancer.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[8513]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15001\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/01\/cancer-450x399.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"399\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/01\/cancer-450x399.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2018\/01\/cancer.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15001\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">La petite constellation du Cancer et surtout connue pour ses amas d&#8217;\u00e9toiles M44 et M67.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>L&#8217;ensemble, qui s&#8217;\u00e9tire sur 50.000 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re, montre de nombreuses r\u00e9gions bleues, si\u00e8ge de la pr\u00e9sence de jeunes \u00e9toiles encore regroup\u00e9es en amas ouverts (on en compte au moins 170). Ces flamb\u00e9es de naissances stellaires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 caus\u00e9es par la compression des nuages de gaz lors de la collision.<\/p>\n<h5>Animation galactique :<\/h5>\n<p>L&#8217;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.esa.int\/spaceinimages\/Images\/2017\/10\/A_glimpse_of_the_future\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">image<\/a> ci-dessus a \u00e9t\u00e9 prise par le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2021\/11\/03\/le-telescope-hubble-sonde-une-nurserie-stellaire-dans-la-dorade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">t\u00e9lescope spatial Hubble<\/a> en 2009. Les astronomes y ont ajout\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es plus r\u00e9centes acquises en infrarouge et dans des longueurs d&#8217;onde particuli\u00e8res. Le but est de mettre en \u00e9vidence les couleurs associ\u00e9es aux raies d&#8217;\u00e9mission de certains gaz.
