On lui doit en particulier la d\u00e9couverte de <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/12\/21\/c2011-w3-lovejoy-letonnante-comete-de-decembre-2011\/\" target=\"_blank\">C\/2011 W3 Lovejoy<\/a> qui avait surpris tout le monde en survivant \u00e0 un passage \u00e0 seulement 140.000 kilom\u00e8tres du Soleil le 16 d\u00e9cembre 2011 avant d&#8217;aller illuminer le ciel de l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re sud.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/comete.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[7655]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7660\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/comete-450x350.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/comete-450x350.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/comete-768x597.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/comete.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>C\/2017 E4 Lovejoy aurait pu \u00eatre une modeste com\u00e8te tout comme\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/03\/04\/une-image-epoustouflante-de-la-comete-c2014-q2-lovejoy\/\" target=\"_blank\">C\/2014 Q2<\/a>, mais voil\u00e0 que son \u00e9clat a fortement augment\u00e9 : elle est actuellement 600 fois plus brillante qu&#8217;au moment de sa d\u00e9couverte (voir ci-dessus la superbe image r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/fhhemmerich\/33718295526\/in\/dateposted-public\/lightbox\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fritz Helmut Hemmerich<\/a>) !<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Sa magnitude est en effet pass\u00e9e de 14 \u00e0 7 en un mois et devrait continuer d&#8217;augmenter jusqu&#8217;au passage de la com\u00e8te au p\u00e9rih\u00e9lie le 23 avril prochain \u00e0 77,5 millions de km du Soleil. Du coup cet astre chevelu, qui s&#8217;annon\u00e7ait au d\u00e9part comme une cible d\u00e9licate r\u00e9serv\u00e9e aux possesseurs de gros t\u00e9lescopes devient accessible aux chasseurs de com\u00e8tes arm\u00e9s de jumelles qui profitent d\u00e9j\u00e0 du passage de\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/03\/27\/41ptuttle-giacobini-kresak-une-comete-dans-la-grande-ourse\/\" target=\"_blank\">41P\/Tuttle\u2013Giacobini\u2013Kresak<\/a> dans la constellation de la Grande Ourse.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/carte.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[7655]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7659\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/carte-450x293.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"293\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/carte-450x293.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/carte-768x499.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/04\/carte.jpg 1018w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Reste une inconnue : ne verra-t-on pas la petite derni\u00e8re de Terry Lovejoy se disloquer au cours des nuits prochaines, ce que pourrait laisser craindre l&#8217;aspect allong\u00e9 que pr\u00e9sente son noyau sur les clich\u00e9s haute r\u00e9solution r\u00e9alis\u00e9s derni\u00e8rement ?\u00a0En attendant on peut la suivre aux jumelles en fin de nuit dans les constellations de <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/08\/22\/andromede-pegase\/\" target=\"_blank\">P\u00e9gase<\/a> puis d&#8217;Androm\u00e8de avant que la Lune ne devienne trop g\u00eanante (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/05\/06\/359\/\" target=\"_blank\">Pleine Lune<\/a> le 11 avril).
