Cette <a href=\"http:\/\/chandra.si.edu\/photo\/2003\/snr0103\/\" target=\"_blank\">image<\/a> r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par l&#8217;observatoire spatial <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/chandra\/main\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chandra<\/a> r\u00e9v\u00e8le que la coquille de gaz de SNR 0103-72.6 (dont le diam\u00e8tre avoisine 150 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re) est principalement constitu\u00e9e d&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne ainsi que de n\u00e9on et de quelques autres \u00e9l\u00e9ments chimiques.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/SNR0103.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[7439]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-7440\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/SNR0103-450x305.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/SNR0103-450x305.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/SNR0103-768x520.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/SNR0103-1024x693.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2017\/03\/SNR0103.jpg 1330w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne est synth\u00e9tis\u00e9 par des r\u00e9actions nucl\u00e9aires \u00e0 l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur des \u00e9toiles au moins dix fois plus massives que le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/11\/24\/soleil-vase-etrusque-mer-de-marmara\/\" target=\"_blank\">Soleil<\/a>. Lorsqu&#8217;une telle \u00e9toile explose, son noyau s&#8217;effondre pour former soit une \u00e9toile \u00e0 neutrons, soit, si elle est assez massive, un trou noir, et le mat\u00e9riau entourant le noyau est propuls\u00e9 dans l&#8217;espace interstellaire.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>SNR 0103-72.6 (pour <em>SuperNova Remnant<\/em>\u00a0ou r\u00e9manent de supernova) est le reste d&#8217;une \u00e9toile massive qui a explos\u00e9 il y a 200.000 ans dans le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/04\/02\/les-nuages-de-magellan-dans-le-ciel-du-chili\/\" target=\"_blank\">Petit Nuage de Magellan<\/a> (SMC pour <em>Small Magellanic Cloud<\/em>), une galaxie naine satellite de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/03\/02\/voie-lactee-se-leve-arches-national-park\/\" target=\"_blank\">Voie lact\u00e9e<\/a> visible dans la constellation australe du Toucan. \u00a0Tout comme le Grand Nuage de Magellan, le SMC fut d\u00e9couvert par le navigateur portugais Fernand de Magellan au cours de son grand tour de l\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Sud entre 1519 et 1522. Ces n\u00e9buleuses prirent ensuite son nom, honneur qui aurait pu revenir \u00e0 l\u2019astronome perse Al-Soufi qui les avaient signal\u00e9es 500 ans plus t\u00f4t.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis l&#8217;explosion de SNR 0103-72.6, la mati\u00e8re expuls\u00e9e ne cesse de s&#8217;\u00e9tendre et de se diluer dans l&#8217;espace, pouss\u00e9e par une onde de choc chauff\u00e9e \u00e0 plusieurs millions de degr\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Nomm\u00e9 en l\u2019honneur de Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar, l\u2019un des pionniers de l\u2019astrophysique du XXe si\u00e8cle, l\u2019observatoire spatial <a title=\"Chandra\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/mission_pages\/chandra\/main\/\" target=\"_blank\">Chandra <\/a>a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en 1999 par la navette spatiale Columbia.
