Plac\u00e9 ensuite sur une orbite g\u00e9osynchrone (\u00e0 36.000 km d\u2019altitude environ), ce satellite de plus de 3 tonnes (il mesure 2 m par 4,5 m) observe en continu le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/06\/19\/solstice-quand-le-soleil-se-levera-sur-stonehenge-le-21-juin\/\" target=\"_blank\">Soleil<\/a> dans diff\u00e9rentes longueurs d\u2019onde. Il peut ainsi \u00e9tudier l\u2019activit\u00e9 de notre \u00e9toile, comme l\u2019apparition d\u2019un <a title=\"Un filament g\u00e9ant s\u2019est form\u00e9 sur le Soleil\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/02\/11\/un-filament-geant-sest-forme-sur-le-soleil\/\" target=\"_blank\">filament g\u00e9ant<\/a>\u00a0ou le d\u00e9veloppement de <a title=\"L\u2019\u00e9norme tache solaire AR 2192\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/10\/22\/lenorme-tache-solaire-ar-2192\/\" target=\"_blank\">taches gigantesques<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/11\/sdo.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[6664]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6665\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/11\/sdo-450x305.jpg\" alt=\"sdo\" width=\"450\" height=\"305\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/11\/sdo-450x305.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/11\/sdo-768x520.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/11\/sdo-1024x693.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/11\/sdo.jpg 1330w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Le 30 octobre cet observatoire solaire a captur\u00e9 les images d&#8217;un <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/goddard\/2016\/nasa-s-sdo-catches-a-lunar-transit\" target=\"_blank\">transit lunaire devant le Soleil<\/a> pendant une heure, un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne qui ne pouvait s&#8217;observer que depuis son orbite. Il ne s&#8217;agissait pas d&#8217;une <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/03\/09\/en-video-leclipse-totale-de-soleil-du-9-mars-2016\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00e9clipse totale<\/a> puisque au maximum du ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne notre satellite naturel ne masquait que 59% du Soleil. Les images de SDO ont \u00e9t\u00e9 prises dans l&#8217;ultraviolet (une longueur d&#8217;onde invisible pour l&#8217;\u0153il humain) puis coloris\u00e9es en rouge.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Pour appr\u00e9cier pleinement la beaut\u00e9 des images solaires saisies par SDO, je vous propose de regarder la vid\u00e9o mise en ligne par la NASA l&#8217;an pass\u00e9, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du cinqui\u00e8me anniversaire du lancement de cet observatoire c\u00e9leste.
