R\u00e9ponse avec cette image r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par l&#8217;un des petits satellites CubeSat.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifa.hawaii.edu\/mko\/\" target=\"_blank\">Observatoire du Mauna Kea<\/a>\u00a0h\u00e9berge une dizaine de t\u00e9lescopes de 1 \u00e0 10 m\u00e8tres de diam\u00e8tre appartenant \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents pays au sommet du volcan Mauna Kea sur l\u2019\u00eele d\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/10\/13\/sur-lile-dhawaii-de-la-lave-en-fusion-sous-la-voie-lactee\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hawa\u00ef<\/a>, \u00e0 4.205 m\u00e8tres d\u2019altitude (la France dispose l\u00e0-bas d\u2019un t\u00e9lescope de 3,6 m\u00e8tres, le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cfht.hawaii.edu\/fr\/apropos\/\" target=\"_blank\">T\u00e9lescope Canada-France-Hawa\u00ef<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Il y a quelques mois je vous avais pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/02\/02\/site-very-large-telescope-chili-de-satellite\/\" target=\"_blank\">le site du Very Large Telescope au Chili vu de satellite<\/a>, une image r\u00e9alis\u00e9e par l\u2019un des satellites Pl\u00e9iades. On remarque au milieu de cette r\u00e9gion d\u00e9sertique la petite tache verte du lac Waiau, le seul lac alpin d&#8217;Hawa\u00ef (il se situe \u00e0 plus de 4.000 m\u00e8tres d&#8217;altitude). Ce plan d&#8217;eau, aliment\u00e9 par les pr\u00e9cipitations hivernales, voit sa taille se r\u00e9duire dramatiquement depuis quelques ann\u00e9es en raison d&#8217;une s\u00e9cheresse importante.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/09\/mauna_kea2.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[6397]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6399\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/09\/mauna_kea2-421x450.jpg\" alt=\"mauna_kea2\" width=\"421\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/09\/mauna_kea2-421x450.jpg 421w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/09\/mauna_kea2.jpg 551w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 421px) 100vw, 421px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Les CubeSat sont des nanosatellites en forme de cube d&#8217;un d\u00e9cim\u00e8tre de c\u00f4t\u00e9 (l&#8217;\u00e9quivalent d&#8217;un volume de 1 litre) pour une masse de 1,33 kilo. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Imagin\u00e9s en 1999 par deux universit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines (l&#8217;universit\u00e9 polytechnique de Californie et l&#8217;universit\u00e9 Stanford), ils sont plac\u00e9s en orbite basse (moins de 2.000 km d&#8217;altitude).
