Depuis que les t\u00e9lescopes terrestres sont assez puissants pour observer les grands reliefs martiens, les astronomes ont assist\u00e9 \u00e0 plusieurs temp\u00eates suffisamment importantes pour soulever de grandes quantit\u00e9s de poussi\u00e8re et masquer les paysages durant plusieurs semaines sur Mars. En 1971 une temp\u00eate se produisit lors de l\u2019arriv\u00e9e en orbite martienne de <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mariner_9\" target=\"_blank\">Mariner 9<\/a>, obligeant la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">NASA <\/a>\u00e0 retarder le travail cartographique assign\u00e9 \u00e0 la sonde.<\/p>\n\n<!-- iframe plugin v.5.1 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/embed\/video\/x3wyfdx\" 0=\"allowfullscreen&gt;&lt;\/iframe\" scrolling=\"yes\" class=\"iframe-class\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p><strong>En vid\u00e9o : MRO, 10 ans d\u2019images sublimes de la Plan\u00e8te rouge<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>En plus de ces temp\u00eates spectaculaires il existe une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de vents qui fa\u00e7onnent lentement le relief de la plan\u00e8te Mars.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Les plan\u00e9tologues ont d\u2019abord pens\u00e9 que la visualisation de ces manifestations \u00e9oliennes demanderait du temps et se r\u00e9v\u00e9lerait en comparant des images prises \u00e0 plusieurs ann\u00e9es d\u2019intervalle. Ils ont d\u00e9couvert une action bien plus rapide ; des vents sont capables de nettoyer en quelques semaines la poussi\u00e8re d\u00e9pos\u00e9e sur les panneaux solaires des astromobiles comme <em>Spirit<\/em> ou <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/07\/17\/en-video-11-ans-sur-mars-pour-le-rover-opportunity\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Opportunity<\/em> <\/a>et m\u00eame d\u2019effacer en moins d\u2019un mois leurs empreintes de roues !<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/08\/mars.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[6275]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-6276\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/08\/mars-450x301.jpg\" alt=\"mars\" width=\"450\" height=\"301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/08\/mars-450x301.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/08\/mars-768x513.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/08\/mars-1024x684.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/08\/mars.jpg 1350w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Voici un nouvel exemple du travail \u00e9olien sur Mars saisi par la cam\u00e9ra <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/02\/15\/insolite-le-rover-martien-curiosity-vu-par-lorbiteur-mro\/\" target=\"_blank\">HiRISE <\/a>install\u00e9e \u00e0 bord de l&#8217;orbiteur <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2016\/06\/28\/mro-deniche-sur-mars-deux-tres-jeunes-crateres-noirs\/\" target=\"_blank\">MRO<\/a>. Ces traces sombres qui s&#8217;entortillent sur le sol ont \u00e9t\u00e9 produites par des tourbillons de poussi\u00e8re\u00a0analogues \u00e0 ceux que l\u2019on observe sur Terre (par exemple dans <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/photos\/d\/chili-alma-desert-atacama-957\/dust-devil-tourbillon-poussiere-desert-atacama-5830\/\" target=\"_blank\">le d\u00e9sert d&#8217;Atacama<\/a>), et que l\u2019on appelle \u00ab <em>dust devils<\/em> \u00bb aux \u00c9tats-Unis.
