On peut citer par exemple l&#8217;observation d&#8217;un empilement de couches s\u00e9dimentaires dans le crat\u00e8re <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/12\/15\/le-cratere-gale-sur-mars-est-un-ancien-lac\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gale <\/a>sugg\u00e9rant l&#8217;existence d&#8217;un ancien lac, ou encore la d\u00e9tection de taux de <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/12\/25\/mars-le-mystere-du-methane-reste-entier\/\" target=\"_blank\">m\u00e9thane <\/a>pouvant varier d\u2019un facteur 10 en raison de brusques d\u00e9gazages que les scientifiques ne s\u2019expliquent toujours pas.<\/p>\n\n<!-- iframe plugin v.5.1 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/embed\/video\/x3a6la4\" 0=\"allowfullscreen&gt;&lt;\/iframe\" scrolling=\"yes\" class=\"iframe-class\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>En vid\u00e9o :\u00a0quels sont les d\u00e9fis d\u2019un voyage vers Mars ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Depuis quelques semaines le rover de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/jpl\/rover-rounds-martian-dune-to-get-to-the-other-side\" target=\"_blank\">NASA<\/a> est au pied des dunes de Bagnold, des \u00e9difices de sable hauts de plusieurs m\u00e8tres et tr\u00e8s sombres en raison de leur forte teneur en olivine et en pyrox\u00e8ne. Les plan\u00e9tologues ont baptis\u00e9 ces dunes en hommage \u00e0 Ralph Bagnold (1896-1990), un militaire britannique consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un pionnier de l&#8217;exploration du d\u00e9sert sur le continent africain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/mars.jpg\"  rel=\"lightbox[4769] attachment wp-att-4771\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4771\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/mars-450x336.jpg\" alt=\"mars\" width=\"450\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/mars-450x336.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/mars-768x574.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/mars-1024x765.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/mars.jpg 1203w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Les observations men\u00e9es depuis l&#8217;orbiteur <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/06\/24\/mro-detecte-du-verre-a-la-surface-de-mars\/\" target=\"_blank\">MRO <\/a>(<em>Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter<\/em>) ont montr\u00e9 que les dunes de Bagnold se d\u00e9placent d&#8217;environ 2 m\u00e8tres par ann\u00e9e martienne (l&#8217;ann\u00e9e martienne vaut 687 jours terrestres), ce qui a incit\u00e9 les plan\u00e9tologues \u00e0 envoyer <em>Curiosity<\/em> pour les explorer.<\/p>\n<p>Ces dunes sont pouss\u00e9es par le vent comme celles que l&#8217;on observe par exemple \u00e0 Windhoek, une r\u00e9gion du d\u00e9sert de Namibie.
