Cet engin de plus de 2 tonnes est \u00e9quip\u00e9 de diff\u00e9rents instruments scientifiques comme\u00a0le spectrom\u00e8tre <a href=\"http:\/\/mars.nasa.gov\/mro\/mission\/instruments\/crismcompactreconnaissanceimagingspectrometerformars\/\" target=\"_blank\">CRISM<\/a> (<em>Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometers for Mars<\/em>) mais il faut bien reconna\u00eetre que c&#8217;est\u00a0sa cam\u00e9ra <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uahirise.org\/fr\/ESP_025913_1945\" target=\"_blank\">HiRISE<\/a>\u00a0(<em>High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment<\/em>) qui a le plus contribu\u00e9 a populariser la mission en nous offrant d&#8217;incroyables vues de la surface martienne.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4694\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/nasa-450x338.jpg\" alt=\"nasa\" width=\"450\" height=\"338\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/nasa-450x338.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/nasa-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/nasa-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2016\/01\/nasa.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>HiRISE est une cam\u00e9ra associ\u00e9e \u00e0 un t\u00e9lescope de 50 cm de diam\u00e8tre permettant d&#8217;obtenir\u00a0des images de la surface martienne avec une r\u00e9solution de 0,3 m\u00e8tre par pixel. Cet instrument d&#8217;un poids total de 65 kg capte de fins d\u00e9tails tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cieux pour les g\u00e9ologues et peut m\u00eame \u00e0 l&#8217;occasion rep\u00e9rer les rovers <em>Curiosity<\/em> et <em><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/01\/26\/opportunity-11-ans-sur-la-planete-mars\/\" target=\"_blank\">Opportunity<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><em>Arabia Terra<\/em> est une r\u00e9gion martienne fortement crat\u00e9ris\u00e9e qui reprend la d\u00e9nomination attribu\u00e9e par\u00a0Giovanni Schiaparelli, l&#8217;astronome italien qui observa dans sa <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/05\/05\/bien-choisir-sa-premiere-lunette-astronomique\/\" target=\"_blank\">lunette astronomique<\/a> une zone contrast\u00e9e dont la forme g\u00e9n\u00e9rale \u00e9voquait l&#8217;Arabie. En 2003 l&#8217;orbiteur <em>Mars Odyssey<\/em> r\u00e9v\u00e9la que cette r\u00e9gion situ\u00e9e dans l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re nord de la plan\u00e8te Rouge \u00e9tait\u00a0la plus riche en hydrog\u00e8ne de toute la surface, laissant supposer que de l&#8217;eau devait \u00eatre m\u00e9lang\u00e9e avec les mat\u00e9riaux pr\u00e9sents dans le sol.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;image ci-dessus nous montre un crat\u00e8re dont les pentes int\u00e9rieures sont curieusement stri\u00e9es.
