Pendant que le <em>Catalina Sky Survey<\/em> scanne le ciel de l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re nord, \u00a0le <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mso.anu.edu.au\/~rmn\/\" target=\"_blank\">Siding Spring Survey<\/a><\/em> fait de m\u00eame en Australie pour le ciel de l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re sud.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Sur l&#8217;image de Chris Levitan on note la belle couleur verte de la com\u00e8te qui provient de la fluorescence des mol\u00e9cules de carbone diatomique (C2) sous l\u2019action du rayonnement solaire ultraviolet. Les deux queues de <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/12\/07\/la-comete-c2013-us10-catalina-passe-pres-de-venus\/\" target=\"_blank\">C\/2013 US Catalina<\/a> \u00a0sont bien s\u00e9par\u00e9es :\u00a0celle constitu\u00e9e de gaz est repouss\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019oppos\u00e9 du Soleil par le vent solaire et la pression de radiation tandis que celle form\u00e9 de grains de poussi\u00e8re s&#8217;\u00e9tire derri\u00e8re la com\u00e8te le long de son orbite. Ce sont ces queues de poussi\u00e8re qui sont \u00e0 l&#8217;origine des essaims m\u00e9t\u00e9oritiques que la Terre rencontre annuellement.<\/p>\n<p>Avec une magnitude de 0,04 Arcturus est la plus brillante \u00e9toile de la constellation du Bouvier ; on la rep\u00e8re ais\u00e9ment en prolongeant la queue de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/07\/25\/zoom-sur-la-grande-ourse-un-soir-dete\/\" target=\"_blank\">Grande Ourse<\/a>. Arcturus, une \u00e9toile rougissante vingt fois plus grosse que le <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/11\/14\/un-filament-circulaire-geant-sest-forme-sur-le-soleil\/\" target=\"_blank\">Soleil<\/a>, forme le Triangle du printemps avec les \u00e9toiles Spica (constellation de la Vierge) et R\u00e9gulus (constellation du Lion).<\/p>\n<p>Le 12 janvier la com\u00e8te sera \u00e0 sa plus courte distance de la Terre (107,7 millions de km) et le 17 janvier elle passera \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du c\u00e9l\u00e8bre couple stellaire <a href=\"http:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/magazines\/espace\/infos\/actu\/d\/astronomie-alcor-mizar-forment-systeme-triplement-binaire-22008\/\" target=\"_blank\">Alcor et Mizar<\/a> dans la constellation de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/10\/07\/la-grande-ourse-et-la-cabotte-sous-la-lune\/\" target=\"_blank\">Grande Ourse<\/a>.
