Il a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un tr\u00e8s beau <em>time-lapse<\/em>, une vid\u00e9o montrant en acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9 l&#8217;activit\u00e9 nocturne de l&#8217;observatoire.<\/p>\n\n<!-- iframe plugin v.5.1 wordpress.org\/plugins\/iframe\/ -->\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/75542539\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" 0=\"webkitallowfullscreen\" 1=\"mozallowfullscreen\" 2=\"allowfullscreen\" scrolling=\"yes\" class=\"iframe-class\"><\/iframe>\n\n<p>Outre les mouvements r\u00e9guliers des coupoles et des radiot\u00e9lescopes sous la vo\u00fbte c\u00e9leste, on remarque dans cette vid\u00e9o \u00a0la pr\u00e9sence de tr\u00e8s nombreux lasers ; \u00e0 quoi servent-ils ?<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Comme l&#8217;explique <a href=\"http:\/\/sgphotos.com\/portfolio\/timelapse\/makingmaunakeaheavens\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sean Goebel<\/a>, les lasers sont utilis\u00e9s pour suivre la turbulence atmosph\u00e9rique (qui fait scintiller les <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/10\/05\/du-mont-elbrouz-jaillissent-les-etoiles-de-la-voie-lactee\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u00e9toiles <\/a>et d\u00e9grade la qualit\u00e9 des images) qu&#8217;ils analysent plusieurs centaines de fois par seconde. Des calculateurs fournissent en permanence des corrections \u00e0 des miroirs mobiles qui am\u00e9liorent la qualit\u00e9 des images : c&#8217;est ce qu&#8217;on appelle l&#8217;optique adaptative.<\/p>\n<p>Ces lasers, d&#8217;une puissance de 15 \u00e0 40 w, peuvent aveugler les pilotes d&#8217;avion. Au sommet du Mauna Kea deux observateurs se tiennent en permanence \u00a0\u00e0 l&#8217;ext\u00e9rieur par des temp\u00e9ratures glaciales et scrutent le ciel ; ils disposent d&#8217;une t\u00e9l\u00e9commande pour d\u00e9sactiver les lasers si un <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/05\/11\/un-avion-de-ligne-passe-devant-le-soleil-tache\/\" target=\"_blank\">avion <\/a>s&#8217;approche trop pr\u00e8s.
