Tout le monde (ou presque) conna\u00eet cette <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Superg%C3%A9ante_rouge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">superg\u00e9ante rouge<\/a>. Elle marque l&#8217;\u00e9paule gauche d&#8217;Orion, le <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Orion_(mythologie)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chasseur g\u00e9ant<\/a> de la mythologie grecque. Et, en cette fin de mois d&#8217;ao\u00fbt, il suffit de se lever avant l&#8217;aube pour l&#8217;admirer \u00e0 l&#8217;Est. Cet astre intriguant devrait finir par <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/actualites\/supernova-betelgeuse-verrons-nous-elle-explosera-supernova-79701\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exploser en\u00a0supernova<\/a>, devenant alors visible en plein jour, mais personne ne peut dire quand. Il y a moins d&#8217;un mois, le\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/france\/news\/eso2611\/?lang\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Very Large Telescope<\/a> a confirm\u00e9 l&#8217;existence d&#8217;une discr\u00e8te <a href=\"https:\/\/observatoiredeparis.psl.eu\/la-preuve-par-l-image.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e9toile compagnon<\/a> qui gravite autour de la superg\u00e9ante. Ces bosses correspondent \u00e0 de gigantesques bulles de gaz chaud qui remontent des profondeurs de l&#8217;\u00e9toile. Pourtant, quelque chose cloche : logiquement, ce processus de convection rend ces bulles \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8res. Mais voil\u00e0 : la zone la plus brillante de la surface \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 visible sur des donn\u00e9es acquises il y a sept ans !
