Cette com\u00e8te, connue \u00e9galement sous l&#8217;appellation 10P\/Tempel, fut d\u00e9couverte le 4 juillet 1873. Les astronomes guetteront son prochain passage au p\u00e9rih\u00e9lie le 2 ao\u00fbt 2026. Il sera alors possible de la suivre aux jumelles, mais depuis l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re Sud. Comme toutes les com\u00e8tes, 10P\/Tempel abandonne de la poussi\u00e8re dans son sillage. Cette poussi\u00e8re com\u00e9taire, nous pouvons tous la visualiser lors d&#8217;une belle nuit du mois d&#8217;ao\u00fbt par exemple. \u00c0 cette \u00e9poque, la Terre coupe l&#8217;orbite de la com\u00e8te <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/109P\/Swift-Tuttle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">109P\/Swift-Tuttle<\/a>. Les particules les plus grosses restent dans son sillage car la pression de radiation n&#8217;est pas suffisante pour les \u00e9jecter. Ce sont elles qui forment la trace rectiligne visible sur ce clich\u00e9.
