C&#8217;est probablement une rencontre avec une autre <a href=\"https:\/\/cnes.fr\/dossiers\/galaxies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">galaxie<\/a> spirale, il y a un milliard d&#8217;ann\u00e9es, qui est \u00e0 l&#8217;origine de son apparence. Une forme si curieuse qu&#8217;elle lui vaut une entr\u00e9e dans le catalogue des galaxies particuli\u00e8res \u00e9labor\u00e9 par l&#8217;astronome <a href=\"https:\/\/www.haltonarp.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Halton Arp<\/a>. D\u00e9couverte en 1785 par le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre astronome <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/William_Herschel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">William Herschel<\/a>, NGC 7727 est situ\u00e9e \u00e0 plus de 70 millions d&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/univers-annee-lumiere-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re<\/a> dans la <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Verseau\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">constellation du Verseau<\/a>. Sa <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magnitude<\/a> de 11,5 la r\u00e9serve aux astrophotographes bien \u00e9quip\u00e9s. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hansonastronomy.com\/ngc-7727\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mike Selby et Mark Hanson<\/a> en ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un tr\u00e8s beau portrait en utilisant un t\u00e9lescope de un m\u00e8tre de diam\u00e8tre :<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[22047]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-22049\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2-450x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2-450x450.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2-768x768.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2025\/11\/galaxy2.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mais l&#8217;aspect de Arp 222 n&#8217;est pas la seule particularit\u00e9 de cette galaxie. En l&#8217;observant avec le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/france\/images\/eso2211a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Very Large Telescope<\/a> en 2021, les astronomes y ont d\u00e9couvert deux <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/astronomie-trou-noir-supermassif-12722\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trous noirs supermassifs<\/a>. L&#8217;un &#8220;p\u00e8se&#8221; la bagatelle de 154 millions de masses solaires, l&#8217;autre se contente de seulement 6,3 millions de masses solaires. D&#8217;o\u00f9 viennent-ils ? Du c\u0153ur de chacune des deux galaxies qui se sont crois\u00e9es il y a un milliard d&#8217;ann\u00e9es.
