Chaque survol rapproch\u00e9 lui permet de photographier le sommet de la couche nuageuse avec un luxe de d\u00e9tails. Aucune sonde ne s\u2019\u00e9tait aventur\u00e9e aussi pr\u00e8s depuis le passage de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/actualites\/univers-sonde-galileo-sombre-nuages-gazeux-jupiter-2484\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galileo<\/a> il y a une vingtaine d&#8217;ann\u00e9es. Morabito en 1979 \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 des \u00e9crans montrant un panache volcanique sur Io. \u00a9 NASA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>D\u00e9j\u00e0 malmen\u00e9 par la proximit\u00e9 de Jupiter, Io est \u00e9galement tiraill\u00e9 par les passages des lunes <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2018\/05\/03\/satellite-europe-projette-ombre-jupiter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Europe<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2021\/07\/26\/en-video-lincroyable-survol-de-jupiter-et-ganymede-par-juno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ganym\u00e8de<\/a>. Les cons\u00e9quences sont spectaculaires : la surface du satellite peut se soulever d\u2019une centaine de m\u00e8tres, \u00e0 comparer aux 18 m\u00e8tres d\u2019amplitude maximale des mar\u00e9es terrestres (dans le cas de notre plan\u00e8te cette d\u00e9formation concerne une masse liquide, pas une cro\u00fbte solide !).
