La GTR (Grande Tache rouge) est un gigantesque anticyclone orang\u00e9 que l\u2019on observe sur\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/univers-jupiter-3714\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jupiter<\/a>. Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente (<a href=\"https:\/\/agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1029\/2024GL108993\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Origin of Jupiter&#8217;s Great Red Spot<\/em><\/a>) r\u00e9v\u00e8le que ce n&#8217;est pas la GTR qu&#8217;observait en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 l&#8217;astronome fran\u00e7ais, mais une autre formation atmosph\u00e9rique.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Une Tache permanente avant la GTR :<\/h5>\n<p>L&#8217;\u00e9quipe conduite par <a href=\"https:\/\/www.egu.eu\/awards-medals\/david-bates\/2020\/agustin-sanchez-lavega\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Agust\u00edn S\u00e1nchez-Lavega<\/a>, professeur de physique \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 du Pays Basque (UPV\/EHU) et plan\u00e9tologue, a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de reconstituer l&#8217;histoire de la GTR. Elle a donc analys\u00e9 de nombreux documents montrant une tache sur Jupiter, depuis le premier dessin de Cassini en 1665 jusqu&#8217;aux plus r\u00e9centes photographies acquises par la sonde <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2022\/01\/30\/les-saisissantes-images-de-jupiter-prises-par-la-sonde-juno\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Juno<\/a>. Les mesures et simulations r\u00e9alis\u00e9es par l&#8217;\u00e9quipe r\u00e9v\u00e8lent que les astronomes ont observ\u00e9 en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 deux ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes distincts : une Tache permanente (nom que lui donnait Cassini) de 1665 \u00e0 1713, puis la Grande Tache rouge \u00e0 partir de 1831.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Plongeon dans la grande tache rouge de Jupiter | Futura\" width=\"474\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MKZEnuMdX0o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Pour Agust\u00edn S\u00e1nchez-Lavega, il est tr\u00e8s improbable que la\u00a0 GTR actuelle soit la Tache permanente observ\u00e9e par Cassini. Cette Tache permanente (<em>Permanent Spot<\/em> ou PS) a probablement disparu entre le milieu du XVIIIe et le XIXe si\u00e8cles.
