Il \u00e9tait alors loin de se douter qu&#8217;il venait de d\u00e9nicher la plus belle galaxie spirale barr\u00e9e. Contrairement aux spirales normales, les spirales barr\u00e9es ont des bras qui ne sont pas reli\u00e9s au centre, mais \u00e0 une barre d&#8217;\u00e9toiles. Le noyau de la galaxie se trouve au milieu de cette barre. Elle a une <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magnitude<\/a> de 10 et il faut un grand t\u00e9lescope pour admirer sa structure (voir par exemple le <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deepsky-drawings.com\/ngc-1300\/dsdlang\/fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dessin de Bertrand Laville<\/a>).<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Une spirale dans la spirale :<\/h5>\n<p>Avec un t\u00e9lescope comme Hubble, la galaxie nous d\u00e9voile une myriade de fins d\u00e9tails. Des bandes de poussi\u00e8re dessinent de fines structures sombres. Dans les bras, on devine des \u00e9toiles superg\u00e9antes bleues et rouges, des amas d&#8217;\u00e9toiles et des n\u00e9buleuses qui abritent des proto\u00e9toiles. Mais c&#8217;est sans doute le c\u0153ur de NGC 1300 qui est le plus \u00e9tonnant. Le noyau pr\u00e9sente sa propre structure en spirale qui mesure environ 3.300 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re. C&#8217;est pour tenter d&#8217;expliquer ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne que les astronomes ont imagin\u00e9 un mod\u00e8le dans lequel le gaz est entra\u00een\u00e9 en spirale vers le centre de la barre. La chute de ce gaz pourrait alimenter un trou noir central.
