Elle a pour objectif d&#8217;observer les effets de l&#8217;impact d&#8217;une sonde sur un petit corps c\u00e9leste, Dimorphos. Ce dernier est la lune d&#8217;un ast\u00e9ro\u00efde plus volumineux, Didymos (lire \u00e0 ce sujet <em><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2022\/03\/24\/les-asteroides-avec-plusieurs-lunes-seraient-tres-courants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">les ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes avec plusieurs lunes seraient tr\u00e8s courants<\/a><\/em>). En effet, le risque de voir un petit corps c\u00e9leste entrer un jour en collision avec la Terre n&#8217;est pas nul. Ce mini satellite fourni par l&#8217;Italie a \u00e9t\u00e9 largu\u00e9 par le vaisseau depuis quelques jours.
