Pendant que l&#8217;astronaute\u00a0Collins reste en orbite, ses compagnons Armstrong et Aldrin rejoignent la surface lunaire avec Eagle. Ce module, le LEM (pour <em>Lunar Excursion Module<\/em>), comprend une capsule pressuris\u00e9e pour les astronautes ainsi que des moteurs pour la descente et la remont\u00e9e. C&#8217;est en tentant de localiser le point de chute d&#8217;Eagle que James Meador a fait une curieuse d\u00e9couverte.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>\u00catre ou ne pas \u00eatre en orbite :<\/h5>\n<p>Chercheur au <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.caltech.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Caltech<\/a><\/em>, James Meador s&#8217;est mis en t\u00eate il y a quelques temps de calculer l&#8217;orbite suivie par Eagle avant de s&#8217;\u00e9craser sur la Lune. Il a incorpor\u00e9 dans ses calculs les donn\u00e9es acquises par la mission <a href=\"https:\/\/solarsystem.nasa.gov\/missions\/grail\/in-depth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GRAIL<\/a>. Il a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 ses conclusions dans un article sur <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2105.10088\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ArXiv<\/a>. Le LEM de la mission Apollo 11 pourrait donc continuer de tourner autour de la Lune, plus de cinq d\u00e9cennies apr\u00e8s ses exploits.
