Bien que cet ast\u00e9risme ne compte aucune \u00e9toile brillante, il est tr\u00e8s connu des astronomes pour h\u00e9berger <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/11\/09\/zoom-letonnante-nebuleuse-planetaire-dumbbell\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dumbbell<\/a>. Renauld<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cependant, Hen 2-437 est beaucoup plus discr\u00e8te que Dumbbell. Avec une <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magnitude<\/a> de 15, elle est ind\u00e9celable dans un t\u00e9lescope d&#8217;amateur ! Un \u00e9clat aussi faible explique sa d\u00e9couverte assez r\u00e9cente, en 1946, par l&#8217;astronome germano-am\u00e9ricain Rudolph Minkowski. Vingt ans plus tard, elle prenait place dans le catalogue cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Karl Gordon <strong>Hen<\/strong>ize. Cet astronome am\u00e9ricain touche-\u00e0-tout fut \u00e9galement astronaute \u00e0 bord de la navette <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/univers-challenger-4178\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Challenger<\/em><\/a> en 1985. Il mourut en 1993 (\u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e2ge de 66 ans) au cours d&#8217;une ascension du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/planete\/breves\/montagne-mont-everest-grandi-presque-metre-3621\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mont Everest<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Une n\u00e9buleuse bipolaire :<\/h5>\n<p>Les n\u00e9buleuses plan\u00e9taires telles que Hen 2-437 se forment lorsqu&#8217;une \u00e9toile vieillissante de faible masse &#8211; comme le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/questions-reponses\/astronomie-soleil-notre-etoile-va-t-elle-mourir-9545\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soleil<\/a> &#8211; atteint les derni\u00e8res \u00e9tapes de sa vie. L&#8217;\u00e9toile gonfle alors pour devenir une <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/univers-geante-rouge-3731\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">g\u00e9ante rouge<\/a>, avant de cracher dans l&#8217;espace ses couches externes gazeuses. Mais dans le cas de Hen 2-437, le mat\u00e9riau \u00e9ject\u00e9 par l&#8217;\u00e9toile mourante s&#8217;est \u00e9coul\u00e9 sous la forme de deux jolies extensions bleut\u00e9es parfaitement sym\u00e9triques. Les astronomes pensent que la pr\u00e9sence d&#8217;une autre \u00e9toile au voisinage de la naine blanche pourrait expliquer la sym\u00e9trie des n\u00e9buleuses bipolaires en canalisant le flux de mat\u00e9riau.
