N\u00e9 en 1942 \u00e0 Paris, Andr\u00e9 Brahic est actuellement professeur \u00e0 l\u2019<a title=\"Universit\u00e9 Paris Diderot\" href=\"http:\/\/www.univ-paris-diderot.fr\/sc\/site.php?bc=accueil&amp;np=accueil\" target=\"_blank\">Universit\u00e9 Paris Diderot<\/a> et au Commissariat \u00e0 l\u2019\u00c9nergie Atomique (<a title=\"CEA\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cea.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\">CEA<\/a>) \u00e0 Saclay. Il a particip\u00e9 aux deux principales missions d&#8217;exploration du Syst\u00e8me solaire, la mission Voyager dans les ann\u00e9es 1980 (aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l&#8217;exobiologiste Carl Sagan) et l&#8217;actuelle mission Cassini-Huygens autour de <a title=\"Saturne dans l\u2019ombre des anneaux\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/12\/08\/saturne-dans-lombre-des-anneaux\/\" target=\"_blank\">Saturne<\/a>. Il est c\u00e9l\u00e8bre pour avoir d\u00e9couvert avec son \u00e9quipe les 5 anneaux de Neptune en 1984, baptis\u00e9s Galle, Le Verrier, Lassell, Arago et Adams. De l&#8217;autre l&#8217;exploration de zones terrestres \u00e0 priori inhospitali\u00e8res (comme les sources hydrothermales observ\u00e9es au niveau des dorsales oc\u00e9aniques) nous montre que la vie se pr\u00e9sente parfois sous des formes \u00e9tonnantes l\u00e0 o\u00f9 on ne l&#8217;imaginait pas : c&#8217;est le cas avec la d\u00e9couverte des extr\u00eamophiles, des organismes capables de vivre dans des conditions normalement mortelles.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;exploration de notre Syst\u00e8me solaire est \u00e9galement riche d&#8217;enseignements : des oc\u00e9ans souterrains sur Europe et Ganym\u00e8de (satellites de <a title=\"Jupiter et la Lune\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/09\/18\/jupiter-lune\/\" target=\"_blank\">Jupiter<\/a>), Encelade (satellite de <a title=\"La Lune fr\u00f4le Saturne\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/09\/04\/lune-frole-saturne\/\" target=\"_blank\">Saturne<\/a>) ou Triton (satellite de Neptune) pourraient offrir les conditions n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 l&#8217;apparition de la vie. De nombreux compos\u00e9s organiques ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverts dans les com\u00e8tes de Halley, <a title=\"La com\u00e8te Hyakutake au printemps 1996\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/05\/04\/comete-hyakutake-au-printemps-1996\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hyakutake <\/a>et <a title=\"Souvenir de Hale-Bopp\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2014\/05\/07\/souvenir-hale-bopp\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hale-Bopp<\/a> et sont pr\u00e9sents dans les nuages interstellaires.<\/p>\n<p>En 1953 le chimiste am\u00e9ricain Stanley Miller d\u00e9clencha des d\u00e9charges \u00e9lectriques dans un ballon rempli d&#8217;un m\u00e9lange de gaz, reproduisant les conditions pr\u00e9sentes sur la Terre au d\u00e9but de son histoire. Il d\u00e9couvrit ainsi quelques acides amin\u00e9s primitifs, premiers maillons d&#8217;une longue cha\u00eene conduisant \u00e0 la vie.
