Lorsque cet astronome fran\u00e7ais d\u00e9couvre la galaxie spirale Messier 94 au mois de mars 1781, il ne voit qu&#8217;une n\u00e9bulosit\u00e9 diffuse avec un centre brillant. Pr\u00e8s de 240 ans plus tard, l&#8217;astrophotographe italien nous en offre un saisissant portrait. Cette modeste constellation est situ\u00e9e juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2020\/09\/03\/cest-le-moment-dadmirer-la-constellation-de-la-grande-ourse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grande Ourse.<\/a> Dans une puissante paire de jumelles, Messier 94 ressemble \u00e0 une petite t\u00e2che lumineuse de <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magnitude<\/a> 8.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Flamb\u00e9e stellaire :<\/h5>\n<p>Les astronomes consid\u00e8rent Messier 94 comme une galaxie &#8220;<em>starburst<\/em>&#8220;, que l&#8217;on peut traduire en fran\u00e7ais par galaxie \u00e0 sursaut d&#8217;\u00e9toiles, feu d&#8217;artifice ou scintillante. Il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;un type de galaxies dans lesquelles le taux de naissance des \u00e9toiles est anormalement \u00e9lev\u00e9. Pour d\u00e9clencher une flamb\u00e9e stellaire, il faut une onde de choc. Elle se situe dans la constellation de la Grande Ourse. \u00a9 NASA\/SOFIA\/Spitzer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h5>Anneaux d&#8217;\u00e9toiles :<\/h5>\n<p>En partant du centre, l&#8217;onde de choc comprime le gaz et la poussi\u00e8re sur son passage. Le gaz commence \u00e0 s&#8217;effondrer en nuages \u200b\u200bplus denses jusqu&#8217;\u00e0 ce que la temp\u00e9rature et la pression soient suffisamment \u00e9lev\u00e9es pour que les \u00e9toiles naissent. C&#8217;est ce que r\u00e9v\u00e8le l&#8217;anneau lumineux compos\u00e9 de jeunes \u00e9toiles chaudes bleut\u00e9es. On trouve ensuite deux autres anneaux. Constitu\u00e9s d&#8217;\u00e9toiles jaunes plus \u00e2g\u00e9es, ils sont moins brillants. Il s&#8217;agit de la galaxie active <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/actualites\/astronomie-feu-artifice-coeur-m-106-galaxie-active-24370\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Messier 106<\/a>, dont la d\u00e9couverte est encore \u00e0 mettre au cr\u00e9dit de Pierre M\u00e9chain.
