Ces nuages cosmiques ont \u00e9t\u00e9 appel\u00e9s plan\u00e9taires parce qu\u2019ils paraissaient ronds \u00e0 travers les premiers t\u00e9lescopes. Les observations r\u00e9centes ont montr\u00e9 qu&#8217;en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 cette coquille est circulaire dans moins de 20% des cas. Nous savons qu\u2019il y a des \u00e9toiles mourantes au centre de ces n\u00e9buleuses. Ils pensaient \u00e0 juste titre qu&#8217;elles s&#8217;estomperaient au fil du temps. Ils \u00e9taient loin d&#8217;imaginer que deux d\u00e9cennies seulement suffiraient \u00e0 montrer ces transformations. C&#8217;est ce que r\u00e9v\u00e8lent les images de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nasa.gov\/feature\/goddard\/2020\/hubble-captures-unprecedented-fading-of-stingray-nebula\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Hen 3-1357<\/a> r\u00e9alis\u00e9es par le t\u00e9lescope Hubble en 1996 et 2016.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>M\u00e9tamorphose acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e :<\/h5>\n<p>Hen 3-1357 se situe \u00e0 18.000 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re dans la constellation australe de l&#8217;Autel. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9e formellement comme n\u00e9buleuse plan\u00e9taire par spectroscopie en 1989. Sept ans plus tard, le t\u00e9lescope spatial Hubble en a fait une premi\u00e8re image. Ses bords ondul\u00e9s lui ont alors valu le surnom de <em>Stingray Nebula<\/em>, la n\u00e9buleuse de la Pastenague (une sorte de raie). Vingt ans apr\u00e8s ce premier portrait, le t\u00e9lescope Hubble s&#8217;est de nouveau pench\u00e9 sur cet objet exotique. Grande surprise chez les astronomes qui n&#8217;ont plus reconnu ce poisson cosmique. La n\u00e9buleuse a chang\u00e9 de forme et sa luminosit\u00e9 a chut\u00e9.
