Cela repr\u00e9sente une accumulation de poses r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sur plusieurs nuits avec diff\u00e9rents filtres. Autant dire que l&#8217;observation de cette n\u00e9buleuse plan\u00e9taire n&#8217;est pas \u00e0 la port\u00e9e de tous. Depuis une d\u00e9cennie, les astronomes amateurs disposent de cam\u00e9ras CCD qui leur permettent de traquer les astres particuli\u00e8rement faibles. Connue sous le nom de n\u00e9buleuse du Calamar g\u00e9ant (<em>Giant Squid Nebula<\/em>), c&#8217;est une n\u00e9buleuse bipolaire qui s&#8217;\u00e9tire sur une longueur vertigineuse de 50 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re. Cela repr\u00e9sente\u00a0 plus d&#8217;un degr\u00e9 apparent sur le ciel, soit deux fois le diam\u00e8tre de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2020\/11\/01\/spectaculaire-pleine-lune-dhalloween-depuis-raritan-bay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pleine Lune<\/a>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Deux en une :<\/h5>\n<p>Avant 2011, les astronomes avaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 identifi\u00e9 la n\u00e9buleuse <strong>Sh2-129<\/strong> dans la petite constellation de C\u00e9ph\u00e9e. C&#8217;est un nuage d&#8217;hydrog\u00e8ne ionis\u00e9 (H II) appel\u00e9\u00a0n\u00e9buleuse de la chauve-souris en vol (<em>Flying Bat Nebula<\/em>). Il se situe \u00e0 1.300 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de nous. C&#8217;est en photographiant tr\u00e8s longuement <strong>Sh2-129<\/strong> que Nicolas Outters a d\u00e9couvert en arri\u00e8re-plan la n\u00e9buleuse du Calamar, 1.000 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re plus loin. La superposition de ces deux objets est un pur hasard. Vue de la Terre, la n\u00e9buleuse plan\u00e9taire Abell 70 a la particularit\u00e9 de montrer sur son bord une galaxie en fuseau (LEDA 187663) beaucoup plus \u00e9loign\u00e9e en r\u00e9alit\u00e9. \u00a9 Mount Lemmon Observatory<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h5>Une \u00e9trange apparence :<\/h5>\n<p><strong>Ou4<\/strong> fait partie de la famille des n\u00e9buleuses plan\u00e9taires bipolaires. C&#8217;est sans doute l&#8217;une des plus proches de nous et c&#8217;est pourquoi elle int\u00e9resse particuli\u00e8rement les astronomes. Typiquement, une\u00a0 n\u00e9buleuse plan\u00e9taire est une coquille de gaz \u00e9ject\u00e9e par une petite \u00e9toile (moins de 8 fois la masse du <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2020\/11\/13\/lactivite-solaire-reprend-les-aurores-polaires-sintensifient\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Soleil<\/a>) en fin de vie. Comme le rappelle Eric Lagadec, astrophysicien \u00e0 l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.oca.eu\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Observatoire de la C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur<\/a>, cette coquille est circulaire dans moins de 20% des n\u00e9buleuses plan\u00e9taires. C&#8217;est le cas par exemple pour <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/06\/27\/messier-97-nebuleuse-planetaire-hibou\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Messier 97<\/a> ou <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/08\/26\/gros-plan-sur-la-nebuleuse-planetaire-eso-378-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ESO 378-1<\/a>. Pour toutes les autres, on pense que des \u00e9toiles tr\u00e8s proches perturbent l&#8217;\u00e9coulement du gaz \u00e9ject\u00e9 par l&#8217;astre moribond.
