Nous allons en effet assister \u00e0 une opposition particuli\u00e8rement favorable en octobre. Celle d\u2019octobre 2020 est tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante pour les observateurs de l\u2019h\u00e9misph\u00e8re nord avec une\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">magnitude<\/a>\u00a0de -2,5. Un diam\u00e8tre apparent sup\u00e9rieur \u00e0 22 secondes d\u2019arc sera d\u00e9cisif pour admirer la Plan\u00e8te rouge si ch\u00e8re \u00e0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2018\/11\/27\/percival-lowell-lhomme-qui-aimait-trop-la-planete-mars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Percival Lowell<\/a>. C\u2019est cette tache blanche \u00e9clatante que l\u2019on voit sur les clich\u00e9s pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans cet article. Sur Mars l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 a d\u00e9but\u00e9 le 2 septembre dans l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re sud et la calotte polaire r\u00e9tr\u00e9cit semaine apr\u00e8s semaine. Les calottes hivernales (ou saisonni\u00e8res) sont bien entendu les plus \u00e9tendues. L&#8217;\u00e9t\u00e9 il reste une calotte permanente (ou r\u00e9siduelle) beaucoup moins importante en superficie. La calotte r\u00e9siduelle, compos\u00e9e de couches de glace et de poussi\u00e8re, mesure plusieurs kilom\u00e8tres d&#8217;\u00e9paisseur. La couche de glace carbonique qui vient s&#8217;ajouter par dessus l&#8217;hiver ne d\u00e9passe pas un ou deux m\u00e8tres d&#8217;\u00e9paisseur. C&#8217;est cette derni\u00e8re que les amateurs voient se sublimer (elle se transforme directement en gaz) depuis plusieurs semaines au p\u00f4le Sud martien.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars5.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[12444]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12448\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars5-450x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars5.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars5-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Une calotte polaire sud d\u00e9centr\u00e9e :<\/h5>\n<p>La calotte polaire sud pr\u00e9sente une bizarrerie : alors que l&#8217;hiver elle est \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s sym\u00e9trique, l&#8217;\u00e9t\u00e9 la calotte r\u00e9siduelle est d\u00e9cal\u00e9e d&#8217;environ trois \u00e0 quatre degr\u00e9s. D&#8217;apr\u00e8s les donn\u00e9es acquises par la sonde europ\u00e9enne <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/01\/30\/en-video-orbiteur-mars-express-survole-mawrth-vallis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mars Express<\/a>, cette anomalie s&#8217;expliquerait par une circulation particuli\u00e8re des vents.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars6.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[12444]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-12449\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars6-450x315.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars6-450x315.jpg 450w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars6-768x538.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2020\/09\/mars6.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Mars en direct ou presque :<\/h5>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce au talent de quelques astronomes amateurs bien \u00e9quip\u00e9s, on peut suivre presque en direct (par exemple sur la page Facebook de l&#8217;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1539908929562909\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>International Society of the Mars Observers<\/em><\/a>) les transformations du paysage martien : fonte de la calotte polaire sud, mais aussi apparition de nuages de givre ou d&#8217;\u00e9ventuelles temp\u00eates de poussi\u00e8re.
