La plus brillante d&#8217;entre elles est Sirius qui semble courir apr\u00e8s la <a title=\"La constellation d\u2019Orion et l\u2019amas des Pl\u00e9iades\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/03\/26\/la-constellation-dorion-et-lamas-des-pleiades\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">constellation d\u2019Orion<\/a>. Dans l&#8217;\u00c9gypte ancienne, l&#8217;\u00e9toile incarnait la d\u00e9esse Isis. Son apparition en fin des nuits d&#8217;\u00e9t\u00e9 co\u00efncidait avec les crues du Nil. Impossible de manquer la plus brillante \u00e9toile du ciel nocturne (<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/05\/06\/quest-lechelle-magnitudes-astronomie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">magnitude<\/a> -1,5).<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Une \u00e9toile toujours basse :<\/h5>\n<p>Sirius est un phare tremblotant en soir\u00e9e qui passe juste au-dessus des b\u00e2timents ou des arbres en direction du Sud. Avec une d\u00e9clinaison fortement n\u00e9gative (16\u00b0 sous l&#8217;\u00e9quateur c\u00e9leste), elle ne s&#8217;\u00e9l\u00e8ve jamais tr\u00e8s haut. La turbulence atmosph\u00e9rique la fait scintiller de toutes les couleurs. La pr\u00e9tendue rougeur de <em>Canicula<\/em>\u00a0s&#8217;explique par les nombreuses observations qui en \u00e9taient faites \u00e0 son lever h\u00e9liaque, lorsque le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne de diffusion Rayleigh est le plus prononc\u00e9 en raison de l&#8217;agitation atmosph\u00e9rique au ras de l&#8217;horizon.<\/p>\n<h5>Carte d&#8217;identit\u00e9 :<\/h5>\n<p>Sirius (<em>Alpha Canis Majoris, \u03b1 Canis Majoris<\/em>) se trouve \u00e0 moins de 9 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.futura-sciences.com\/sciences\/definitions\/univers-annee-lumiere-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re<\/a> de nous. Cette proximit\u00e9 (c&#8217;est la cinqui\u00e8me \u00e9toile la plus proche du Syst\u00e8me solaire) explique d&#8217;ailleurs en grande partie pourquoi nous la voyons si lumineuse. Tr\u00e8s proches l&#8217;un de l&#8217;autre, les deux astres sont difficiles \u00e0 observer dans un t\u00e9lescope. Leurs orbites elliptiques les rapprochent et les \u00e9loignent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement.
