On peut dire que c&#8217;est un artiste prot\u00e9iforme dont on f\u00eate cette ann\u00e9e la mort il y a 500 ans. Il est ce qu&#8217;on appelle un polymathe, un homme d&#8217;esprit universel. Car sa culture semble infinie dans les domaines des arts comme ceux des sciences. Il s&#8217;agit de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2017\/06\/28\/lumiere-cendree-derriere-linterferometre-carma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lumi\u00e8re cendr\u00e9e<\/a>, une faible lueur qui envahit le disque lunaire en d\u00e9but et en fin de lunaison.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Spectacle en Arizona :<\/h5>\n<p>Avez-vous d\u00e9j\u00e0 admir\u00e9 cette douce clart\u00e9 environ 10.000 fois plus faible que la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2019\/09\/15\/zoom-sur-la-pleine-lune-des-recoltes-harvest-moon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pleine Lune<\/a> ? Elle permet de distinguer le reste du disque lunaire quand le croissant est assez fin pour ne pas trop nous \u00e9blouir. L&#8217;astrophysicien am\u00e9ricain retrait\u00e9 et grand sp\u00e9cialiste des \u00e9clipses\u00a0<span id=\"more-3650\"><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/astropixels.com\/main\/espenak.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fred Espenak<\/a> en avait r\u00e9alis\u00e9 un film le 19 mai 2015. Il s&#8217;\u00e9tait alors install\u00e9 dans la r\u00e9gion montagneuse de Portal en Arizona, deux jours apr\u00e8s la Nouvelle Lune. Il s&#8217;agit d&#8217;un <em>time-lapse, <\/em>proc\u00e9d\u00e9 qui permet de faire d\u00e9filer \u00e0 une cadence \u00e9lev\u00e9e des images prises \u00e0 intervalles r\u00e9guliers. Les clich\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 obtenus \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019un appareil photo num\u00e9rique fix\u00e9 derri\u00e8re une <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/05\/05\/bien-choisir-sa-premiere-lunette-astronomique\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">lunette astronomique<\/a>\u00a0de 13 cm de diam\u00e8tre.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Moonset: Crescent Moon &amp; Earthshine - 1\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/128421764?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"474\" height=\"316\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h5>L&#8217;intuition d&#8217;un g\u00e9nie :<\/h5>\n<p>Dans son <em>Codex Leicester<\/em>, L\u00e9onard de Vinci \u00e9met une th\u00e9orie audacieuse. La Lune ressemble \u00e0 la Terre, avec une atmosph\u00e8re et des oc\u00e9ans. Il sugg\u00e8re que ces \u00e9tendues d&#8217;eau r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissent la lumi\u00e8re solaire et \u00e9clairent le paysage lunaire. Le g\u00e9nie florentin se trompe pour l&#8217;existence de surfaces liquides mais il a raison dans son explication. Alors que le croissant re\u00e7oit directement les rayons solaires, le reste du disque lunaire est tr\u00e8s l\u00e9g\u00e8rement \u00e9clair\u00e9 par la lumi\u00e8re solaire que la Terre renvoie dans l\u2019espace. L\u00e9onard de Vinci l&#8217;a probablement r\u00e9dig\u00e9 entre 1508 et 1510. Il se compose de 72 pages de croquis et de textes en \u00e9criture sp\u00e9culaire (texte \u00e0 l&#8217;envers qu&#8217;il faut lire avec un miroir). Ce codex rassemble quelques-unes des id\u00e9es du g\u00e9nie dans des domaines aussi vari\u00e9s que l&#8217;astronomie, l&#8217; eau, l&#8217;air, les roches ou encore les fossiles.
