Cet amas de galaxies visible depuis l&#8217;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re sud porte \u00e9galement le nom de Abell 3627. Mais un second ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne intervient : la pression exerc\u00e9e par le gaz chaud pr\u00e9sent au sein de l&#8217;amas, ou pression dynamique.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h5>Le r\u00f4le de la pression dynamique :<\/h5>\n<p>Les astronomes ont d\u00e9couvert que l&#8217;int\u00e9rieur d&#8217;un amas de galaxies ou milieu intra-amas (MIA) n&#8217;est pas vide. On y trouve un gaz tr\u00e8s chaud (plusieurs millions de degr\u00e9s). \u00a0Ce gaz chaud exerce une pression sur le gaz et la poussi\u00e8re de la galaxie qui le traverse. En toute logique la puissance de cette pression dynamique est proportionnelle \u00e0 la vitesse de la galaxie qui traverse ce MIA.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"3D visualisation of ESO 137-001 (artist&#039;s impression)\" width=\"474\" height=\"267\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KgIPVAeIU_8?start=23&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Le r\u00e9sultat est spectaculaire dans le cas de ESO 137-001. De larges traces de gaz (en violet) et de poussi\u00e8re (en orange) forment une immense tra\u00een\u00e9e longue de 400.000 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re, donnant \u00e0 la galaxie un air de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eso.org\/public\/france\/images\/potw1939a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">m\u00e9duse cosmique<\/a>. Ainsi d\u00e9pouill\u00e9e de sa poussi\u00e8re et de son gaz, ESO 137-001 n&#8217;offre plus les conditions requises pour permettre la naissance de nouvelles \u00e9toiles.<\/p>\n<h5>\u00c0 savoir :<\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>l&#8217;astronome am\u00e9ricain George Ogden Abell (1927\u20131983) est connu pour son catalogue de pr\u00e8s de 4.000 amas de galaxies \u00e9tabli \u00e0 partir de ses observations dans le cadre du <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Palomar_Observatory_Sky_Survey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Palomar Observatory Sky Survey<\/em><\/a><\/li>\n<li>l&#8217;amas Abell 3627 est difficile \u00e0 observer dans les longueurs d&#8217;onde optiques. Situ\u00e9 \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du plan galactique de la <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2018\/08\/26\/en-video-quest-ce-que-la-voie-lactee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Voie lact\u00e9e<\/a>, il est obscurci par la poussi\u00e8re interstellaire<\/li>\n<li>les galaxies se regroupent en amas. Notre amas local par exemple se compose d&#8217;une trentaines de galaxies. Les deux plus imposantes sont notre Voie lact\u00e9e et la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.futura-sciences.com\/feldmann\/2015\/01\/09\/le-telescope-hubble-zoome-sur-la-galaxie-d-andromede\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">galaxie d&#8217;Androm\u00e8de<\/a><\/li>\n<li>le milieu intra-amas est un plasma constitu\u00e9 principalement d&#8217;atomes d&#8217;hydrog\u00e8ne et d&#8217;h\u00e9lium enti\u00e8rement ionis\u00e9s.
