Il forme un petit c\u00f4ne de 150 m de haut, qui culmine \u00e0 547 m dans une caldeira de 4 km de diam\u00e8tre. Un crat\u00e8re, de 150 m de diam\u00e8tre et de 80 m de profondeur, occupe son sommet, avec des d\u00e9p\u00f4ts jaunes de soufre sur ses l\u00e8vres. Bardintzeff).<\/p>\n<p>J&#8217;ai d\u00e9couvert ce volcan lors de l\u2019\u00e9clipse totale de Soleil du 29 mars 2006 ! Il m&#8217;a sembl\u00e9 tr\u00e8s jeune. J&#8217;ai pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 quelques \u00e9chantillons de roches \u00e0 l&#8217;origine d&#8217;une publication scientifique :<br \/>\nBardintzeff J.M., Deniel C., Guillou H., Platevoet B., T\u00e9louk P. et Oun K.M. (2012) &#8211; Miocene to recent alkaline volcanism between Al Haruj and Waw an Namous (southern Libya).
